2019 – 2020 Bousquet Race Club Program Entry Level Skill Criteria All Mountain Team, Development Team, Interclub and Tristate Race Teams

All prospective Bousquet Ski Club Program members must demonstrate the following skill level criteria during an on-snow skiing skills assessment in order to qualify for a spot on the Bousquet All Mountain Team, Development and Interclub Teams, High School Race Team Training, or Tristate Race Teams:

 

All Mountain Team (half-day weekend program)

• An ability to independently ride the Blue Chairlift

• An ability to ski available Green and Blue terrain in the Advanced Beginner to Early Intermediate Zone (e.g., Advanced Wedge, Wedge Christie, Advanced Christie, and emerging Open Track Parallel on Green and Blue terrain)

 

Development Team (full-day weekend program)

• An ability to independently ride the Blue Chairlift

• An ability to ride the Yellow Chairlift with adult supervision

• An ability to ski most available Green and Blue terrain in the Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Zone (e.g., Wedge Christie, Advanced Christie, and emerging Open Track Parallel on most Green and Blue and some easy Black terrain)

• Register with USSS (formerly USSA) and Tristate Racing Association as a General member from the Bousquet Ski Club

 

Interclub Race Team (full-day weekend program)

• An ability to independently ride both the Blue and Yellow Chairlifts

• An ability to ski most available Blue and Black terrain in the Advanced Intermediate Zone (e.g., Advanced Christie to Open Track Parallel with emerging Dynamic Parallel on Blue and easy Black terrain)

• Possess the intrinsic motivation and desire to learn to be a part of a ski racing team, to work hard to continue to develop your skiing and racing skills, and to compete in entry level GS, SL, and Kombi races against other racers of your age and gender

• No Wedge Turns, except when instructionally or tactically appropriate

• Register with USSS (formerly USSA) and Tristate Racing Association as a Competitor member from the Bousquet Ski Club

 

Tristate Race Team (full-day weekend program)

• Previous racing experience at the Interclub level or equivalent experience

• A recommendation from an Interclub race coach or equivalent race coach

• An ability to ski all available Blue and Black terrain in the Dynamic Parallel Zone

• Possess the intrinsic motivation and desire to be a part of a ski racing team, to work hard to continue to develop your skiing and racing skills, and to compete in more advanced to highly advanced level GS, SL, and some SG races against other racers in your age class, e.g., U12, U14, and U16

• Register with USSS (formerly USSA) and Tristate Racing Association as a Competitor member (U12 and above) from the Bousquet Ski Club

 

Weekend High School Race League Training Program

• An ability to ski all available Blue and Black terrain in the Dynamic Parallel Zone

• Possess the intrinsic motivation and desire to be a part of a ski racing team, to work hard to continue to develop your skiing and racing skills, and to compete in GS and SL races at the high school level

9:15 – 11:15 / 12:00 – 2:00

ALL MOUNTAIN TEAM

Half Day: 9:00-11:00

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM HOURS:
Half Day: 9:00 – 11:00

Full Day: 9:00-11:00/12:00-2:00

HIGH SCHOOL RACE TRAINING HOURS:

9:00-11:30 AND 12:30-2:00
